JOB DETAILS:
Impact and Innovations Development Centre (IIDC), is a Impact and innovations Development Centre (IIDC) is a regional technical assistance organization that supports NGOs to develop programmes that are effective and sustainable in Uganda, located in Kampala for the past 4 years.
It seeks to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable groups in Africa through promoting co-learning evidenced and impactful socio-economic development interventions and innovations. Our work is organized around four programmatic strands namely: Learning and sharing; Knowledge management; Programme support;Organizational development and Donor grants management.
We are seeking for qualified and passionate professionals to fill the following vacant positions located in Kampala with frequent travel upcountry and within East Africa.
Title: Communication Associate .

Job Summary: Support the communication and documentation function within IIDC and across partner organizations ensuring that key strategic communication activities are fulfilled, knowledge is documented and shared to advance the organizationls mission. Support communication and engagement activities with llDC partners.


Essential
• Bachelor's degree in journalism communication, media/public relations, publishing, social work or related field
• At least 3_years working experience supporting a range of communication activities
• Excellent written English skills with evidence of sample writing (3 pieces)
• Good working knowledge of formatting and layout in Microsoft Word and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
• Ability to learn new digital and visual communication skills through mentorship
Preferable: Ability to design publications using the Adobe‘Suite or online graphics sites is as an added advantage
 

Personal attributes: Attention to details in written communication; ability to learn new skills and teach others; innovative and able to solve old problems with new ideas; willing to travel outside of Kampala occasionally and Relates well in a multi—cultural setting with different personalities.
