The Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management

Background
The purpose of the Global Health Supply Chain– Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Program is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities in support of United States Government (USG)-funded public health initiatives around the world. The project provides direct procurement and supply chain management support to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI). In supporting USG-funded global health activities, GHSC-PSM will develop and manage a wide array of services for health commodity procurement and related systems strengthening technical assistance encompassing different elements of a comprehensive supply chain.

At the country level, GHSC-PSM supports country strategies and priorities that fall under the following three project objectives:
• Global Commodity Procurement and Logistics
• Systems Strengthening Technical Assistance
Global Collaboration to Improve Long-Term Availability of Health Commodities

Purpose:
The Receptionist is responsible for maintaining the reception area, handling visitors, inquiries, receiving, reviewing and controlling all incoming and outgoing calls and she/he assists in carrying out the day-today project office administrative duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Receiving and attending to guests in a professional manner.
• Ensures front office cleanliness.
• Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
• Dispatch organizational correspondences and publications
• Maintain international calls.
• Maintain updated project contacts databases.
• Maintain office filing system of front desk related documentation.
• Support with the photocopying and binding of official documents.
• Assist with logistical workshop and meeting organization.
• Support the management of office supplies and stock control.
• Assist with coordinating transport for staff.
• Assumes any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualification
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Basic computer knowledge and appropriate software proficiency, good typing ability.
• Must possess multi-task handling ability, and knowledge of administrative procedures and clerical actions.
• Should be skillful in Microsoft office package, telephone communication, listening etc.
• Excellent written and vocal communication is an important key competence.

Level of Effort and Location
This long-term position will be based in Kampala, Uganda with intermittent travel throughout the country.

Supervision
The Receptionist will report to the HR/Office Manager during the assignment.
