Job Summary
United Future Foundation seeks a young professional to serve as the Communications and Marketing Officer for the organization. This is a full-time position based in Bujjuko, Mpigi. The position holder shall be responsible for the communication and marketing function at our Uganda office while liaising with the Australian team to grow our sponsorship program and visibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Working with the field teams compile change stories and case studies, learning series, technical briefs and special reports for external audiences.
•Setting up interviews with staff members, partners, clients and beneficiaries, traveling the field on a regular basis, developing interview questions, interviewing children and other audiences to collect stories, drafting stories using quotes/audio/notes taken and submitting finalized work, with photos (sometimes video) to the international Communications team for dissemination.
• Develop and implement a communications and marketing strategy an operational plan.
• With the Country Director and M&E manager, supporting the compilation of external donor and other reports.
• Timely gathering, production and delivery of all marketing and communication content, to support Child Sponsorship and general fundraising programs.
• Research, draft, and update information related to the organization’s projects; impact, trends, learning and achievements.
• Managing and updating mainstream i.e. website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) platforms as and when required, including international communication platforms whenever necessary.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism or related
field. Masters preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or Partnerships Management role with a non-profit.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, especially geared towards international based audience.
• High level presentation, communication and networking skills especially in optimising high level and key relationships internally and externally.
• A Good Understanding of content creation and experience in management and using popular social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Canva, Pinterest etc.
• Photography and/or videography skills preferred. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software is also a plus.
• Prior experience creating digital content and managing communications campaigns.
• Basic understanding of website development and management.
• Excellent interviewing skills, and transcribing, contacting and following up field activities and project teams.
