Role Purpose
You will lead the communications function and implement the company’s communications strategy. The communication manager will act a focal communication and spokesperson for the company for internal and external audiences, including handling media inquiries to ensure accurate information is disseminated to internal and external audiences in a timely manner.

1. Communications Officer Key External Relationships
Media organisations and officials, creative agencies, PR industry bodies and regulators among other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborate with other teams to identify the public voice of the brand
• Create style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, advertising and other vital departments
• Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises
• Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news
• Write letters, interdepartmental memos and other business correspondence
• Communicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kits
• Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices
• Coach and assist team members on improving communication skill
• Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies
• To act as a focal communications person and spokesperson for the company for internal and external audiences, including handling media inquiries;
• To ensure accurate information is disseminated to internal and external audiences in a timely manner in order to drive the overall company objectives;
• To manage PR and advertising relations with media houses and social media platforms;
• To supervise department staff and ensure a high degree of service and satisfaction, including regular monitoring to address challenges and crises as they emerge.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
• Advanced degree in journalism, media and/or public relations;
• Five or more years of hands-on public relations experience,
Desirable:
• Hands-on public relations experience, including knowledge of social and digital media platforms.
• Experience in media buying and executing communication strategies.
Key Competencies
• Strong language skills, vast networks in local media industry; ability to communicate clearly and articulately on different platforms. Other
Essential:
• A mature team player able to work well under pressure and under minimum supervision while paying attention to detail.
