JOB DETAILS:
The Government of Uganda has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Farm Income Enhancement and Forest Conservation Programme —F roiect-2 (FIEFOC-2), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for Provision of consultancy services to conduct Capacity Building Activities of Farmers and Farmer Groups in Agribusiness Skills, Commodity Bulking and Collective Marketing in Water Shed Areas of Lot 1: Wadelai and Tochi Irrigation Schemes; Lot 2: Mubuku ll, Doho ll and Ngenge Irrigation Schemes.
The overall objective of the assignment is to mobilize 7500 farmers and build their capacities in agribusiness skills, commodity bulking and collective marketing of the target value chains. The specific objective for the services to be provided under this consultancy will include: a) Develop market linkage models, training materials, guide books and business operational guidelines, b) Training and equipping 7500 farmers in agribusiness skills, d) Enhance the capacity of 7500 farmers in commodity bulking, collective marketing & establishment of sustainable market linkages and e) Training of 7500 farmers in Business Planning and Financial Management.
The assignment will be executed over a period of 12 calendar months. .

The Ministry of Water and Environment now invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing these services. interested consultants must provide information indicating their qualifications for performing the services supported with relevant documentation. Such information shall include: (a) Brochures, (b) Description of assignments of similar nature conducted in the last 5 years, (c) Experience in similar conditions and in the region, and (e) Availability of appropriate managerial and technical skills among staff, including core team of key experts to perform the assignment. For each similar assignment completed, the consultant shall provide the name, address and contact of the client; start and completion dates; name(s) of lead consultant where necessary. Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Procurement Policy for Bank Funded Operation dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org
