About the role
We’re looking for an experienced video journalist to identify and produce engaging content from our projects across rural east Africa.The ideal candidate will have experience of creating captivating content to engage international audiences, leading to increased brand profile and improved fundraising. A good understanding of poverty issues in the region and development issues is an advantage. As the role will co-ordinate content collection across our country programmes and work closely with the teams in the UK and US, fluency in written and spoken English is essential, with French language skills as an advantage.

Job purpose:
Manage Ripple Effect’s strategic content planning and production to establish Ripple Effect as an authoritative voice in our specialist areas, and inspire positive change in rural Africa.
Key accountabilities:
1. Support all teams on identifying content needs and managing the annual content calendar to inspire existing and new support.
2. Manage, develop and assess the new Ripple Effect visual brand
3. Manage content collection (stories, photography, videography, live streams) either directly, by working with other staff members, or through external commissions.
4. Create engaging content for use on- and off-line
5. Research and testing innovations for storytelling
6. Provide training for staff in content collection
Learning & skills
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of content production – all sectors considered. Working for an international organisation or a variety of audiences is desirable. Experience in journalistic videography needed.
