Contracts and Performance Manager


Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and periodically review Supply Chain Management (SCM) Key Performance Indicators aligned to the corporate plan and budget.
  • Develop a risk management register for the SCM function and escalate any risk management issues in line with the company’s Enterprise Risk Management framework.
  • Review all contracts for goods and services to ensure the company’s interests are protected prior to approval of the contracts.
  • Manage SCM performance targets and compliance relative to targets set within contracts and SLAs.
  • Manage capacity development among suppliers of services and goods to ensure ’ sustainability of supplies and compliance to industry and company standards.
  • Maintain a contracts registry to monitor the validity of contracts and/ or leases in a bid to support timely decision making with respect to initiation, amendment and/ or expiry of contracts. P
  • Lead the review of SCM processes and policies and provide overall direction to ensure SCM is meeting business needs.
  • Participate in both internal and external audit exercises, as required and take corrective action arising from issues relating to the SCM department.
  • Act as the main liaison between the ICT Department and the SCM function to support installation and optimisation of systems and processes to enhance performance of the SCM function.
  • Support the business in the automation of the archives to ensure completeness and accuracy of e-documentation. »
  • Support third parties with compliance with the company‘s Code of business conduct.
  • Support the business to enforce third party consideration of applicable stakeholder and other regulatory performance standards.
  • Liaise with category managers to manage the company’s relationship with its contractors.
  • Provide periodic reports on SCM departmental performance and non-compliance to SCM standards.
  • Provide leadership to the Contracts and performance management team and escalate performance issues accordingly as well as perform other duties that may be assigned by the line manager.

Minimum qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Procurement, Business Administration (Finance), Statistics or associated discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in procurement and Supply Chain Management (such as Master’s Degree in a Supply Chain Management field, CIPS, CPSM, CSCP etc.), with membership to an accredited professional Supply Chain Management body. In-depth knowledge and application of contracts law is an added advantage.
  • At least 6 years of working experience in an SCM role, 3 of which should have been spent in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in use of an Enterprise Resource Management system or procurement and logistics management system.
  • Experience in risk management, performance management, or audit and compliance for an SCM function. ’
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders at senior levels.
