JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Country Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Responsible To: Regional Director and Board
Contract Duration: 1 Years auto-renewable upon confirmation
Employment Location. OYA MICROCREDIT OFFICE, Muyenga, Kampala, Uganda
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
The Country CEO will be the leader of the fast-growing multinational SME lending fintech in Uganda.
The CEO’s core mandate will be to ensure the flawless execution of the fintech’s unique business and operating model .

Primary job responsibilities of Country CEO would include:
• Coordinate with Regional expansion team to establish country office expeditiously
• Master the unique operating model and ensure the principles of the model permeate throughout the organization, with full alignment of all team members
• Lead and motivate team members to advance employee’s sense of ownership and commitment and enable them achieve targets
• Consistently challenge team members to operate the model at the very highest level
• Maintain field presence to develop camaraderie with field teams and to get a firsthand perspective of the model’s performance on ground
• Identify expansion opportunities for the business across Uganda and develop execution plan for successful expansion
• Set sales and NPL targets and cascade across the organization to align incentives
• Always maintain view of financial position to ensure provision of adequate cash flow for day-to-day working and in compliance with statutory requirements and reporting
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders such a regulators and technology providers

Qualifications:
• Over 5 years of management or executive work experience in the Telecommunications (Sales & Distribution) or Finance industry
• At least a Bachelor’s Degree
• Must be a national of Uganda
• Highly organized self-starter with grit, determination and passion for hard work

• Capacity and stamina for continuous days of long hours of both general management and field work
• Resilient and remains calm and deliberate under conditions of stress
• Motivator with strong people management capabilities
• Eye for mass and middle market business opportunities
• Strong analytical background
• Well-networked across a diverse range of people and groups in Uganda
• Strong Communication and People Management, interpersonal and influencing skills to build strong business relationships, foster stakeholder engagement, create new partnerships and drive culture of team-oriented collaboration
• Meeting other Fit and Proper Requirements for a Responsible person as set out by
regulators
