JOB DETAILS:
An innovative start-up in the FinTech space, focused on global family budgeting is looking to hire a Country Manager who will be based in Uganda. They are on a mission to revolutionize the remittance industry, bringing tangible improvements to the lives of migrants in the UK and to the family members that they support through their remittances.
They can be described as a mission-driven business that love engaging with anybody who wants to make a difference on a big scale. Their lean team is very excited by the solution that they are building and they are keen to speak to anyone that wants to be involved in building a business that will change lives for the better.

A bit about the role:
Their Country Manager will be a Ugandan local who knows the country and its market inside out. Ideally coming from a FinTech or mobile money background you will be entrepreneurially minded with a hands on attitude. As the first in country employee for the business you will be required to wear many hats, head up the operations and build a small team in Uganda once the business has reached the point where this is required.

Requirements
Your mission:
• Understand the business’s mission, contextualise it to Uganda and drive execution of the same
• Operational excellence, understanding the process required to manage a country whilst juggling multiple tasks to meet business’s targets.
• Working with and advising the CEO/MD on the Ugandan market and the best approach to take
• Identifying new business opportunities and working innovatively to close them
• Designing and implementing go-to-market strategies relevant to the Ugandan market
• Agreeing annual budgets and producing a detailed annual business operating plan as well as monthly, quarterly and annual targets for revenue, profits and cash.
• Produce business performance reports, on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Recruit and manage a small team (when the time is right), including performance monitoring, and possibly mentoring and training
• Networking and facilitating future partnerships for the business
• Building on and developing existing partnerships

A bit about you:
• Understanding of how a business operates with a proven track record demonstrating understanding and business acumen
• 4 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Adjustable and flexible in nature
• Familiarity with a start-up environment
• FinTech / mobile money background is essential
• Excellent networking skills
• In-depth knowledge of the Ugandan market
• Deliver the highest standards of customer service
• Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership and both written and verbal communication skills
• Must be familiar with computer software programs e.g. Word, Excel etc.
