JOB DETAILS:
Uganda Management Institute (UMI) is a Management Development Institute with a Mission “to Excel in Developing Practical and Sustainable Administration, Leadership and Management Capacity”. It provides management training, consultancy and research services in response to the demands of the public, private, development partners, CSOs, the Institute off ers high quality career development management courses at Certificate, Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and Higher Degree Levels. The Institute’s activities are currently carried out at the main campus in Kampala and its Branches in Mbarara, Gulu and Mbale.
In order to carryout its functions efficiently and effectively, the Institute seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons in the full-time post of;
POST: Deputy Institute Registrar
Reports to: Institute Registrar
Salary Scale: UMI 2b
Main purpose of the job:
To deputise the Institute Registrar (IR) in managing the department.

Key Results Areas:
• IR deputised in managing the department;
• Admissions and registration of participants spearheaded;
• Examinations processes spearheaded
• Staff supervised and guided;
• Professional grading and issuing of examinations results ensured;
• Successful graduation ceremonies organised; and
• Students’ records effectively managed.

 Person specifications:
• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Educational Management and Administration or Curriculum Management or in a related and relevant field, plus Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Education, Arts or Social Sciences or Humanities;
• Applicants with a PhD will have an added advantage;
• Proven computer literacy will be required;
• Eight years of relevant working experience, three of which should have been gained at a managerial/supervisory level in a reputable organisation/University/Institution.
