Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts existing in New Technical institutes in the Ministry of Education and Sports, BTVET Department.
Job Title: Deputy Principal-Technical Institute

Job Purpose: Direct, monitor, evaluate academic and administrative programmes and ensure their implementation

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare schemes of work/lesson plans, practical, experiments and train trainees according to the set timetable
• Assist the Principal in the overall administration and management of the Institute
• Supervise the teaching, non-teaching and support staff
• Ensure effective and efficient maintenance of records, material resources, facilities and information services for efficient accountability
• Enforce discipline in the Institute
• Organize and assist in the management and implementation of the curriculum
• Participate in education sector reforms related to BTVET training
• Oversee and coordinate the general environmental maintenance and renovations at the institute.
• Act as the minute secretary of the Board of Governors.
• Conduct any other duties assigned by the relevant Authority.

Qualifications and Working Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in technical field or a minimum of Diploma in courses taught in the Institute, plus a
• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field.
• Registered as a Teacher/Instructor with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
• A Minimum of Nine (9) years working experience three (O3) which should have been at the level of Principal Instructor.

Applications should bear the title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.

Applicants should attach to each application form photocopies of all the academic certificates and transcripts, other relevant supporting documents, and a recent passport size photograph. Only Qualifications from recognized Institutions will be considered.
