The University is strengthening its management and administrative systems to enhance both policy initiation and implementation through recruitment of highly qualified and committed individuals. Nkumba University is seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced and dynamic person to till the senior position of Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC):
Job Position: Deputy Vice Chancellor
Reports to: Vice Chancellor
Salary Scale: Attractive and negotiable
Age Limit: 35y ears and above
Terms of Service: Four years Contract but renewable upon satisfactory performance
Dirty Station: Nkumba University, Entebbe.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for resource mobilization and utilization To monitor the implementation of the University Strategic Planning
• To chair the following Senate Committees:
a. Admissions
b. Budget Preparation
c. Quality Assurance
d. Menu and Accommodation
e. Examinations
f. Any other Committee as assigned
• Responsible for promotion and coordination of linkages with other Academic and Professional Institutions and the world of work
• To preside over major University ceremonies in the absence of the Vice Chancellor.
Required Competencies
• Should be at the rank of a Professor or Assoc. Professor
• Should have a PhD from a recognized Institution
• At least 7 years of proven leadership and managerial experience within a reputable organization and preferably a credible University; with competences in financial management, strategic planning, team building and supervision
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Strong communication, networking, negotiation and leadership skills
• Experience with budgeting, resource mobilization and utilization
• Financial management, entrepreneurial and accountability skills
• Experience in Project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation
