Profiles International Uganda Limited, a competent Human Resource and Management Consultancy firm, has been retained by Nkumba University to solicit applications from qualified personnel with experience and technical competence to fill the position of the University Deputy Vice Chancellor on its behalf.

Nkumba University is a private chartered University (Legal Notice No. 3 of 2007). The mission of Nkumba University is to provide an environment that enables the Cultivation of Competence, Creativity and Character in the academic, professional and social interactions. The University is strengthening its management and administrative systems to enhance both policy initiation and implementation through recruitment of highly qualified and committed individuals.

Nkumba University is seeking to recruit qualified, experienced and dynamic persons to fill the senior position below:

Job Title: Deputy Vice Chancellor
Report to: Vice Chancellor
Salary scale: NU 2
Age Limit: 40 YEARS and ABOVE
Terms of service: 4 year contact but renewable
Duty Station: Nkumba University, Entebbe

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Reports to the Vice Chancellor
  
• Responsible for resource mobilization and utilization
  
• To monitor the implementation of the University Strategic Plan
  
• To chair the following Senate and Management Committees:
  
• Admissions
  
• Budget Committee
  
• Quality Assurance
  
• Menu and Accommodation
  
• Examination
  
• Any other Committee as assigned
  
• Responsible for promotion and coordination of linkages with other Academic and Professional institutions and the world of work.
  
• To preside over major University Ceremonies in absence of the Vice Chancellor
  
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned to you by the Vice Chancellor or by the University Council.

Essential Educational and professional qualifications.

• Should be at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor
  
• Should have a PhD from a recognized institution.
  
• At least 7 years of proven leadership and managerial experience within a reputable Organization and preferably a credible University involving financial management, strategic planning, team building and supervision.
  
• Proficiency in computer applications
  
• Strong communication, networking, negotiation and leadership skills.
  
• Experience with budgeting, resource mobilization and utilization
  
• Financial management, entrepreneurial and accountability skills
  
• Experience in Project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation
