Job details:
Main purpose of the position:
Secretary to the National Library Board, Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the National Library and Chief Inspector of public libraries in Uganda.

Key Functions and activities:

•  Execution of plans and policies of the Board
•  Ensuring the proper and effective planning, budgeting, execution and evaluation of the services of the library under the National Library Act, 2003.

Qualifications and attributes:

• An honors’ first degree
• Postgraduate qualifications at a Master’s Degree level in Librarianship or information Science
•  Qualifications and/or experience in project proposal writing and human resource management will be an added advantage
• At least ten (10) years’ service in a reputable library, five of which must have been at senior managerial level.
• Knowledge and competence in computer applications to information management
• Skills in inter personal communication, team building, lobbying and advocacy
• Person of high moral character and proven integrity.

Terms and Conditions of-service:
Renewable contract for 5 years. Attractive remuneration including annual leave, medical insurance, housing allowance and gratuity.
