Job Title: District Education Officer
Ref: DSC/GYM/07/2017; Salary Scale: U1E
Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer;
Responsible tor: Principal Education Officer; Principal inspector of Schools; Sports Officer

Key Functions:

• implementing Education laws, policies and regulations;
  
• implementing approved education and sports development plans, strategies, and council decisions;
  
• Providing technical and professional advice;
  
• Organizing and facilitating teachers’ training programmes;
  
• Coordinating school inspection and sports programmes; and
  
• Maintaining an updated teachers’ personnel databank.

Qualifications and Person Specifications:

Should hold an Honors Bachelors degree in Education from a recognized University or Institution

With either a Masters degree in Education Planning and Management or Human Resource Management or Public Administration and Management or other related Managerial fields from a recognized University or institution

Any other requirement: At-least 9 years working experience; three of which must have been in the management of an educational institution or gained from professional experience in a managerial capacity at the level of Principal Education Officer.

Job application procedure
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and eligible Ugandans to fill the vacant posts currently available in Oyam District Local Government under Oyam DSC Min No.2/2017.

Applications must be tilled and submitted in triplicate on PSC Form 3 (Revised 2008) and submitted to The Secretary, Oyam District Service Commission, P.O. BOX 30, Loro, Oyam. Not later than 22nd June 2017.

The application forms can be obtained from any District Service Commission or the Public Service Commission Officer, Farmers House, 2nd Floor, Kampala.
The Application should bear the Title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should attach three recent Certified Passport size photographs.
