Malteser International is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Malteser International has been working in Uganda since 1996, with projects in several regions of the country. In Northern Uganda and more specifically in the West Nile region, MI is currently active in the sectors of WASH, livelihood and environment for improving the lives of both the refugee population as well as the host communities. The WASH activities focus on improved access to safe water and sanitation. Livelihood and environment components complement the approach. In the capital Kampala Malteser International’s focus lies on the health sector with the development of an operative ambulance system, an improved care for physiotherapy patients and the support of an initiative for mothers of disabled children.
For its work in Arua, Uganda, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Driver (m/f/d) – National Position.
As the Driver, you will be responsible for driving and maintaining the MI fleet in accordance with MI regulations and policies in order to support program implementation.

Your responsibilities:
• Ensure provision of reliable and secure driving services
• Ensure the maintenance of the vehicle with respect to Malteser International vehicle management policy
• Solve minor technical problems
• Record all the maintenance is done in the logbook of each vehicle
• Ensure respect for the departure and arrival time of your movement
• Guarantee the good loading and unloading of the car and goods in an appropriate way
• Fill in the Logbook every day according to Malteser International procedures

Your profile:
• Education minimum Uganda Certificate of Education
• Valid driving permit with DL class
• At least two (2) years experience as a driver with an INGO
• Defensive driving added advantage
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good command of the English language
• Experience working in the West Nile Region and knowledge of the local language is an added advantage

• Start Date: Immediately
• Duty Station: Rhino Camp Arua
• Duration of contract: 1 year with possible extension subject to donor funding
• Salary according to qualification and experience, insurance package
