Position Summary
We are looking for motivated Engineering Associates with 0-2 years of experience to join our growing team. In this
role, you will contribute to the design, installation, and maintenance of LPG distribution systems while developing
your technical expertise through hands-on experience. This is a challenging position that offers practical experience
in energy infrastructure development and requires a self-directed approach to learning and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Implementation (40% of role)
● Contribute to the design and technical planning of LPG microstations, distribution networks, and metering
systems
● Support field engineering teams with installation, testing, and commissioning of LPG infrastructure
● Use CAD software to adapt standard designs to specific site requirements
● Review and optimize piping layouts, pressure regulation systems, and safety devices
Documentation & Quality Control (25% of role)
● Prepare and maintain technical documentation including engineering drawings, specifications, and
procedures
● Support compliance with relevant standards (EN 13445, EN 12542, etc.) and local regulations
● Document pressure tests, leak tests, and commissioning results
● Maintain accurate records of equipment specifications and serial numbers
Field Operations (25% of role)
● Conduct site surveys and technical assessments for new installations
● Support supervision of installation contractors and technicians
● Participate in pressure testing, leak detection, and system commissioning
● Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues at installed sites
Research & Development (10% of role)
● Research industry best practices and emerging technologies
● Identify opportunities for system improvements and cost optimizations
● Stay current with relevant regulations and technical standards
● Proactively expand knowledge of LPG systems through self-directed learning
Qualifications
Required
● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Electrical engineering discipline from Makerere University
● 0-2 years of engineering experience or recent graduate from January 2025
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
● Willingness to work in the field and travel to various installation sites within Greater Kampala
● Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
● Self-motivated with ability to learn independently
Preferred
● Understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and pressure systems
● Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
● Familiarity with engineering standards and codes
● Previous experience in energy, oil & gas, or utilities sector
● Valid driving license
● Experience with data analysis or monitoring systems

● Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
