JOB DETAILS:
Introduction and Background
Uganda Association of External Recruitment Agencies, (UAERA) is a member based non-profit association formed in 2013 with the overall aim of fostering unity, development and promoting business interests of its members while protecting the best interests of its customers and migrant workers.
UAERA would now like to recruit an Executive Director to provide overall strategic leadership to the Association in line with the vision, mission, objectives and the strategic plan. The Executive Director who will be the overall head of the Secretariat shall report to the UAERA Board and will be responsible for providing leadership and foster a high team performance culture to the secretariat staff and to the members of the Association.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Executive Director will report to the UAERA Board and will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
• Be responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the Association
• Lead and account for delivery of Association's strategic plan and oversee the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the strategy.
• Responsible for and spearheading the mobilization of the resources and developing other revenue sources for the Association through fundraising and project management

• Develop and maintain appropriate contingency plans for all kinds of emergencies that may affect the Association's work and the industry
• Support the Board of Directors to carry out its governance responsibility, attend all Board meetings, oversee implementation of all Board decisions regarding policies, and procedures, serve as liaison between Board and staff, Keep Board updated on all operations, changes, and problems, Coordinate Board/Committee activities and attend Committee meetings. The ED is an ex-officio board member and Secretary to the Board
• Responsible for preparation of Annual Budgets, Work Plans and other Plans and ensuring Value for Money in utilization of the Association's resources
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and corporate governance principles
• Ensuring the association applies all recommended best practices and if not, that the failure to do so is justifiably explained
• Responsible for preparing and providing Reports in a timely manner
• Build professional relationships, linkages and partnerships that promote the interests of the Association.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
The Executive Director shall have the following minimum qualifications;
• Bachelor's Degree in Humanities and a Master's degree preferably in Business Administration or any related field
• 10 Years' demonstrable management experience with at least 5 in a Senior Management Position in Membership Organization/ Association, NGO or donor funded organization or a related one
• Knowledge of the following recruitment industry's attributes: legal rules and guidelines, latest trends and best practices, diverse business functions and principles; data analysis and performance/operation metrics: corporate and regulatory best practices:
• Should have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Organization and leadership skills: Project management and fundraising skills
• Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies.
• Should have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Organization and leadership skills; Project management and fundraising skills
• Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies.
• Having a vision to put the mission into a long-term view
• Ability to Attract, recruit, nature, retain the best talent
• Have knowledge of the labour migration trajectory in Uganda
