Overview:
Tufts Global Inc. a subsidiary of Tufts University in Uganda seeks a field coordinator in Karamoja for the Karamoja Resilience Support Unit (KRSU) project funded by USAID. The project works closely with the Karamoja Development Partners Group (KDPG) to provide reviews, studies and analysis of development and humanitarian programs in Karamoja, and related policy issues. Our focus is translating evidence into practice and fostering collaborative learning to strengthen policy environments and program impacts. KRSU activities investigate emerging trends, best practices and promising strategies.
Position Vacancy. Field coordinator, Karamoja
Location: Moroto, Karamoja .

Responsibilities:
• Support the Senior Resilience Adviser in coordination and learning events in Karamoja. providing both logistical and technical inputs. This includes:
• Coordinating and organizing learning and knowledge/experience sharing events for local government and NGOs to encourage peer learning and promote networking at district and sub-regional levels.
• Identifying gaps/opportunities to improve NGO-local government coordination at the sub-regional and district levels and provide mentoring and technical assistance to district administrators.
• Providing technical support to operationalize Karamoja Integrated Development Plan by supporting functionality of sector working groups at district and sub-regional levels.
• Strengthen knowledge management at district and sub-regional levels Provide operational support to KRSU research, study and assessment missions, facilitate field logistics. organize stakeholder consultation events. Brief consultants and visitors
• Play a key role in ad hoc and real time analysis of the food security, nutrition and market situations
• Represent KRSU in regular interagency meetings and ad hoc meetings

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in social sciences, agriculture, development studies
• At least five years of experience in community development
• Excellent diplomacy skills and a proven ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and professional relationships with district local governments, representatives of CSOs, and academic institutions
• Ability to coach, mentor and develop capacity of district local government staff
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills in English
• Knowledge of Karamoja sub-region and Ngakarimojong language is desired
• Ability to travel to districts and sub-counties
