JOB DETAILS:
Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa (HRNS UG) is part of the Germany based foundation "Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung" (HRNS); a not-for-profit organization established in 2005. With the objective of promoting sustainable development, HRNS implements hands-on projects to improve the working and living conditions of small-scale coffee farmers. Its activities concentrate on the economic and social development of producer communities by enhancing their competitiveness, forming, and strengthening farmer organizations, creating better market linkages, and promoting access to important support services, while at the same time promoting sustainable coffee farming and long-term use of natural resources.
HRNS wishes to recruit staff for the following positions for an upcoming project in Rakai and Kyotera Districts.
1. Field Officer- Agronomy and Climate Change
a) Job purpose:
• Ensure that farming household’s production systems are resilient to climate change, enhance food and income diversification.
b) Key qualification
• A university degree in agriculture or related field
c) Experience and skills required:
• At least 5 years' experience working in agricultural extension work in rural communities/locations.
• Strong knowledge and experience in agronomy, agroforestry and climate change adaptation especially for coffee and bananas.
• Excellent mobilization, facilitation, communication and reporting skills.
• Good knowledge of Luganda language.
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding license & at least two years of riding experience.

Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
