- Lira is implementing a Competence Based Curriculum to enable Graduates to acquire hands on skills to meet the demands in the world of work.

Uganda Technical College
- Lira is currently seeking to recruit highly motivated, competent, innovative, and committed persons to fill the following vacant teaching positions in Academic Departments for National Diploma and Higher Diploma Programmes, Non-Teaching and Support staff positions on contractual Governing Council terms.

CATEGORY A (TEACHING POSITIONS) Part-time Lecturers and Assistant Lecturers in the following Departments;

1. Department of Mechanical Engineering:
Subjects of Specialization

- Applied Thermodynamics, Applied mechanics, Mechanical Engineering Drawing and Engineering mathematic. qualification required:
- Higher Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Master of Science is an added advantage
- Teaching experience of two years in the above named subjects

2. Department ol Civil Engineering
Subjects of Specialization:

- Applied Engineering Mathematics, Structures, Surveying, Soil Mechanics and Civil Engineering drawing

Qualification required:

- Higher Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Master of Science is an added advantage
- Teaching experience of two years in the above named subjects

3. Department at Water Engineering
Subjects of Specialization:

- Hydraulics, Hydrology, Applied mathematics and Strength of materials .

Qualifications required:

- Higher Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Water Engineering or Civil Engineering. Master of Science is an added advantage.
- Teaching experience of two years in the above named subjects

4. Department of Architecture
Subjects at Specialization

- Engineering Surveying, Structures and Applied Mathematics qualifications required
- Higher Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Surveying or Water Engineering or Architecture. Master of Science is an added advantage
- Teaching experience of two years in the above named subjects

5. Department of Electrical Engineering
Subject of Specialization
Electronics

Qualifications required:

- Higher Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Teaching experience of two years in the above named subjects

6. Department of Information and Communication Technology (1post)
Subjects of Specialization
- Programming languages (Java, C" and VB) _

Qualifications required

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science For all the above Teaching positions a qualification in Technical Teacher Education is an added advantage.

CATEGORY B. (NON TEACHING STAFF)
a) Administrative Assistant/ Assistant Registrar (1 post)

Qualification required:

- Bachelors degree in Public Administration or Human Resource Management
- Teaching experience of at least 2 years in a Tertiary institution is a requirement.
- Administrative experience in a tertiary institution is a requirement

b) Estate Manager (1 Position)

Qualification required
- National Diploma in Water or Civil Engineering
- Two years’ experience in a tertiary institution
c) Library Assistants (3 posts)

Qualification required
- Certificate in either Library or office Management
- Experience in Library works in a Tertiary institution
