Adara Development, a non-profit organization, seeks to recruit an excellent Finance Assistant in Uganda.

Location: Kiwoko Hospital, Nakaseke District, Uganda
Employment status: An ongoing contract {full time)
Reports to: Uganda Country Director.

  ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for managing cash (in particular, petty cash), external reporting, and preparation of budget versus actual for Adara Development (Uganda). You will support budget holders in planning and implementing their programme activities, as well as, managing cashflow in order to meet programme needs.

About you
• Relevant degree in business, accounting or economics
• Experience managing petty cash and month end responsibilities, including journal entries, month end reconciliations and budget versus actuals analysis
• Exposure to working with auditors
• Sound knowledge of the requirements set by the Ugandan Revenue Authority and other relevant regulatory bodies of Uganda
• Sound knowledge of financial management accounting principles
• Experience using an accounting software from data entry to report preparation
• Good Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel)
• Strong understanding and ability to demonstrate strong internal controls and procedures
• Ability to work in a small team
• A minimum of 3 years hands on experience in a relevant role
Desirable
• CPA qualified or working towards qualification
