Our client, the Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company ( UECCC ) that was established by the Government of Uganda to provide financial, technical, and other support for renewable energy development in Uganda is looking for someone with high integrity, technical abilities, and commitment to fill the position of Finance Specialist.

Reporting to the Manager, Finance and Administration and working closely with Management, the Finance Specialist will be in charge of running the treasury function of UECCC.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Work alongside a Treasury Consultant to put in place and operationalize a treasury function at UECCC
• Prepare asset and liability reports
• Track loan performance and prepare quarterly billing notes for UECCC clients
• Ensure compliance to reserve policy for guarantee schemes
• Prepare investment and capital replenishment proposals in respect with UECCC's capital requirements
• Support the UECCC's annual and long term planning processes by playing a key role in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of annual budgets and other financial estimates
• Process financial transactions and ensure proper and timely accountabilities from recipients
• carry out tax planning and compliance review exercises
• Prepare any ad-hoc reports requested for monitoring of UECCC's financing facilities; and
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Key Person Specifications
The ideal candidate should possess;

• An honours degree in Accounting or Commerce/Finance/Business Administration with a bias in Accounting, from a recognized University
• Professional qualifications in Accounting (including but not limited to ACCA, CPA among others)
• Post graduate qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration will be an added advantage
• At least 5 years relevant working experience
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer literacy and knowledge of computer accounting packages will be an added advantage
• Not more than 40 years.
