Since 2008, the organization has provided financial and technical support to CSOs across the country contributing to the achievement of human rights, good governance and rule of law, local democracy and better quality of life. FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Main purpose of the Position: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance and administration Manager oversees the financial, administrative and human resource operations of the organization while ensuring that there is value for money.

Key duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation of financial policies, procedures and regulations.
• Ensure budget monitoring, cash flow projections, financial controls and operating systems are functioning and diligently enforced
• Responsible for generation of the organization's financial reports i.e. monthly, quarterly, semi
  annually and annually.
• Ensure contracting and procurement procedures and regulations are based on the approved procedures in place
• Ensure efficient and user friendly administrative services are available of the Fund
• Ensure that transparent human resource policies are implemented in accordance with the approved Staff Policies and Procedures
• Ensure that the Fund Secretariat is up and running
• Contribute to the mobilisation of resources needed for the Fund
• Contribute to the promotion and proper management of the grants system
• Contribute to the creation of awareness of the IDF as an organization and its activities

Key result Areas:

• Having a functional finance and administrative unit and systems
• Continued funding of the organization by different funders
• Timely and accurate financial reports

Key person Specifications:

• Degree in financial management and professional courses like ACCA, CPA, & CMIA
• Personnel & human resource management training, contracts management
• At least 5 years managing staff systems and financial resources in a reputable organization with at least 3 years of managing contracts and overseeing procurement and purchasing
• At least 2 years’ experience based in Uganda and an appreciation of human rights issues with an understanding of development issues in Uganda and of civil society dynamics
• Good knowledge of community development approaches
• Ability to demystify financial management through introduction of user friendly approaches
