We seek to recruit a Finance and Operations Manager who will manage financial and administrative operations for the Country Program in Uganda. The Finance and Operations Manager will work under the direction of the Country Director and work closely with PATH headquarters teams in Seattle and Washington, D.C. to establish office systems and ensure that PATH policies and procedures are followed by the country office.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

• Oversee the country program’s financial and administrative operations, ensuring compliance to ethical standards, corporate philosophy and local laws and with PATH international’s policies.
• Develop and prepare budgets and manage expenses within approved budgets for the Country program.
• Ensure that security guidelines and procedures are established, maintained, updated regularly and adhered to by the Country team. Monitor the security situation and provide leadership for staff in emergencies.
• Protect the organization's resources and assets and ensure that they are used efficiently in furtherance of PATH mission and programs.
• Liaise with the HR team on implementation of HR policies and procedures in-country and day to day transactional HR activities.
• Ensure local procurements are conducted in accordance with PATH and donor policy.
• Work with Legal Affairs to ensure compliance with registration, licensing, government reporting, and statutory requirements.

Required skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional qualification in CPA, ACCA, CIMA or ICSA. An MBA or MSC in any related business field will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience providing financial and operations oversight, 5 years of which should have been in a large global donor funded project.
• Financial software expertise, including Excel, QuickBooks, Sun systems and Sales force.

Suitable candidates must currently have legal authorization to work in Uganda.
