Foreman - Mechanical Works

Job description
The Foreman-Mechanical Works is responsible for all aspects of the mechanical component on all projects. He / She is responsible for providing planning, coordination and supervision to mechanical activities including plumbing, fire systems, fabrication, equipment maintenance and HVAC systems as well as manage Interface with subcontractors and project teams to ensure conformance with approved plans, specifications, scope of work, and contract documents.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide supervisory direction of craft workers via the leadmen and Technicians, managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence
• Ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications
• Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence
• Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate
• Assist in schedule planning, determining labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
• Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards
• Intervene with own team to carry out fabrication, maintenance, repair and installation equipment

Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related course

Skills and experience
• Four (4) years’ experience in a Heavy Construction setting required
• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate mechanical works
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
