Job Overview

Ensuring safe, inclusive, and equitable participation in entrepreneurship and innovation programs is essential for fostering sustainable economic growth and social impact. The Safeguarding, Gender and Inclusion Lead plays a pivotal role in creating and enforcing policies that protect program participants, particularly vulnerable groups such as women, refugees, and persons with disabilities. By collaborating with consortium partners, developing toolkits, and mainstreaming gender and inclusion best practices, this role strengthens the overall impact of a program. Through strategic advocacy, training, and capacity-building efforts, it ensures that safeguarding principles are embedded within program operations, empowering marginalized communities and fostering an environment where all participants can thrive. This role is not just about compliance—it's about driving meaningful change and ensuring that entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities are accessible, safe, and transformative for everyone involved.

The Safeguarding, Gender, and Inclusion Lead will provide strategic guidance on safeguarding, gender, and social inclusion across all program objectives and activities. This role involves developing and implementing safeguarding strategies, policies, and toolkits to raise awareness and enforce protective measures. The lead will ensure that gender and inclusion are effectively integrated by working closely with program leadership, team leads, cross cutting team members and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include conducting gender and social inclusion analyses, designing and monitoring related initiatives, and ensuring alignment with safeguarding and disability inclusion policies. The Lead will also build the capacity of Outbox staff and its Enterprise Support Organisation (ESO) network partners to apply gender and inclusion principles in daily operations. Additionally, the role involves promoting the meaningful participation of women, refugees, and persons with disabilities, contributing strategic input to ensure equity and safety, and representing the organization in key engagements to drive advocacy and foster an inclusive and safe learning environment.

The Safeguarding, Gender, and Inclusion Lead reports directly to the Programme Lead.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on a rolling basis.
