Joy for Children-Uganda ( JFCU ) is a non-profi t children’s rights organization established in 2005 to respond to the plight of vulnerable children in Uganda. Dedicated to working with children, families and communities to end injustice to children. The organization has its head offi ce in Kampala, fi eld offi ces in Kabarole district and another fi eld offi ce to be established in Lango sub region. JFCU also hosts and coordinates Girls Not Brides Uganda, a National Alliance to End Child Marriage with over 80 NGOs in the different parts of Uganda to end child marriage.

PROJECT BACK GROUND
JFCU will be implementing a three -year project on mitigating social risks associated with Gender –Based Violence (GBV) and Violence against Children (VAC) in the districts of Lira, Oyam, Kole and Dokolo. We now seek to recruit suitable individuals for the following position to be based in Lira district:

Qualification and Experience
Masters in Gender studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution. Evaluation is an added advantage. At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in gender based programming is a must. Experience in addressing GBV and legal and cultural issues in Uganda is Mandatory. Previous experience in GBV interventions in infrastructural projects is an added advantage.
Previous experience in developing IEC materials to mitigate risks of GBV/VAC Ability and willingness to work in rural settings is required as well as some knowledge of the language used in the Lango Cluster
