Context
Under the overall supervision of the Representative and direct supervision of Programme Specialist Gender and Human Rights, the Program Analyst Human Rights substantively and contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the area of gender equality and human rights including mainstreaming gender and human rights, addressing gender-based violence and harmful practices including child marriage and Female Genital Mutilation.

The Program Analyst – Human Rights guides and facilitates the delivery of UNFPA programs by monitoring results achieved in the implementation. He/she ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements for mainstreaming gender human rights into UNFPA development and humanitarian Programmes.

Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist, Gender and Human Rights, the UN Youth Volunteer will perform the tasks below;
1. Contributes to advocacy for integration/ positioning of reproductive rights in the development of human rights standards by the national human rights mechanisms and in national development policy and accountability frameworks. Includes contributing in UNFPA collaboration with Uganda Human Rights Commission in conducting a national inquiry on teenage pregnancy
2. Support generation of knowledge about current and emerging gender and GBV is-sues, by analyzing Programmes, projects, strategies, approaches and ongoing experience for lessons learned, best practices, and shares with management for use in knowledge sharing and planning future strategies.
3. Support compilation of analytical and project reports on gender and human rights to be shared with the National and Local Government, UNFPA Country Office, UN Country Team (UNCT) and other relevant stakeholders.
4. Support the timely planning, implementation, review and management of projects to Implementing Partners for which he she/he has been assigned, including Programmes directly and nationally executed for all funding resources of the Country Office.
5. Support accountability and programme visibility for gender and human rights programmers and development partners in alignment with donor signed agreements.
6. As part of the Gender and Human Rights team, the UNV will, participate in initiatives for documentation and knowledge sharing relating to Gender and GBV pro-grams including: compilation of abstracts and presentation at conferences and other fora, documentation of a good program practices, organizing in-country knowledge transfer events for key actors, and participation in relevant south to south exchange initiatives.

Requirements
Required experience
1 years of experience in programme/project management in the public or private sector is desirable (candidates with 0 to 3 years of experience can be considered).
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in Gender, Human Rights.
• Professional experience in project management of development Programmes.
• Work experience in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
• Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded;
