JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership in Inclusion and Girls Education to scale up the education portfolio across VSO.
• Lead VSO's development thinking and approaches to volunteering for development in Inclusion and Girls Education.
• Develop, review, and promote the Inclusion and Girls Education theory of change and support operationalization across VSO's programs.
• Establish evidence through research and evaluation of VSO's good practice and most effective programming in Inclusion and Girls Education.
• Build networks across VSO to provide sustained and quality System Wide Technical Support.
• Establish a pool of internal and external technical experts and resources to directly support countries based on their priority and portfolio growth plans in Inclusion and Girls Education.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships with global institutions, networks, academic and research organizations, donors, social movements, and trade unions to influence Inclusion and Girls Education.
• Lead the technical design of Inclusion and Girls Education for bid development. And represent VSO externally and internally in matters related to Inclusion and Girls Education.
• Provide resources for communications and marketing materials on Inclusion and Girls Education.

Collaboration Responsibilities:
Internal Collaboration:
• Collaborate with project and Practice Area teams on technical input and evidence. Collaborate with the internal bid team on funding opportunities and proposal design. With global implementation team, global people team, global security, safeguarding and medical team for global collaboration, network, learning, knowledge sharing and quality assurance. And share learnings from implementation for new project development, project design and people planning.

External Collaborations:
• With consortium and implementing partners for people management, volunteer management, safeguarding and duty of care. Build and maintain relationships with all relevant government departments.
• Closely monitor donor trends, and emerging opportunities; nurture and cultivate strategic partnerships.
• Collaborate proactively with donor partners to ensure all donor requirements are met.
Competence Required:
• Understanding of current issues and trends in education, specifically in Girls Education and Inclusion.
• Understanding of the principles of strategic convening and a track record of forming strategic partnerships with diverse educational institutions and donors.

Experience:
• Considerable experience of direct work in the education sector, with a focus on Girls Education and Inclusion at regional and global levels.
• Experience in developing technical models to improve learning outcomes and address learning crises for vulnerable children.
• Considerable experience in education program development and providing technical support to institutions in developing counties.

Skills/Abilities:
• Good research skills for internal and external technical research and evaluations.
• Analytical thinking and strategic planning abilities from an organizational perspective.
• Adaptability in communication style for various contexts and stakeholders and presenting complex information in a clear and accessible manner, both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in handling complex workloads, multitasking, and collaborating with diverse teams.
• Strong teamwork skills, demonstrated through building effective relationships in global technical education and related work.
• Commitment to VSO's vision, purpose, values, and volunteering for development approach.
