JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
Kampala International University is a private chartered university in Uganda. We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to join our team. As a Grant Writer, you will be responsible for researching and writing grant proposals to secure funding in areas of your expertise and making systematic reviews to identify gaps in those particular areas. In addition, you will be required to develop publishable or contribute to review papers.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in grant writing, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Research and identify potential funding sources
• Write and edit proposals, reports, and other funding requests
• Develop and maintain a grant workplan to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports
• Collaborate with program staff to develop program ideas, research proposals and budgets
• Build relationships with funders and stakeholders to stay informed about funding opportunities and priorities
• Track and report on grant outcomes and progress
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in grant writing

Requirements:
• At least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
• At least 3+ years of experience in grant writing or a related field
• Proven success in securing funding through grant writing
• Excellent scientific writing, editing, communication skills, and analytical skills
• Strong research having participated in research is an added value
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under supervision
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to set targets, meet deadlines and work under pressure

Added Advantage:
• Experience with grant management software and databases
• Certification in grant writing and Scientific writing
