JOB DETAILS:
Job Description
The HR: Compensation and Benefits Lead will be responsible for:
• Compensation and Benefits Strategy: Develop and execute the company's compensation and benefits strategy that aligns with our business objectives, market trends, and local practices in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
• Salary Benchmarking: Conduct regular market surveys and analyze industry compensation data to ensure our salary structures are competitive and attract top talent.
• Benefits Administration: Manage all employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and other ancillary benefits, ensuring effective communication and compliance with relevant laws.
• Job Evaluation and Grading: Lead the job evaluation process to establish clear job grading and salary banding, ensuring internal equity and consistency.
• Incentive Programs: Design and implement performance-based incentive programs to motivate and reward high-performing employees.
• Compensation Review Cycles: Oversee the annual compensation review process, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for salary adjustments.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific regulations related to compensation and benefits across East African countries.
• HR Data Analysis: Analyze HR data related to compensation and benefits, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Employee Communication: Develop and deliver effective communication strategies to educate employees on compensation and benefits programs and changes.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and benefits providers to negotiate contracts and monitor service delivery.
• HR Policy Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of HR policies and procedures, with a particular focus on compensation and benefits-related policies.

The Successful Applicant
The HR: Compensation and Benefits Lead:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional) is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience in compensation and benefits management, preferably in the Energy (Oil and Gas) industry or related sectors in East Africa.
• Deep understanding of compensation practices, benefits administration, and job evaluation methodologies.
• Familiarity with labor laws and regulations in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania pertaining to compensation and benefits.
• Proficiency in data analysis and HRIS systems for compensation management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
