JOB DETAILS:
Our Client, a Tier 1 commercial bank in Uganda with a presence in Africa, is implementing an ambitious transformation program to enhance its Customer and Employee value proposition through digitalization. The bank seeks to recruit high performing, transformational and experienced leaders to join their Senior Leadership team.
Head, Human Resources
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Human Resources will lead the Bank's organisation transformation program, collaborating with the regional teams to enhance our Employee Value Proposition.
Key Responsibilities.
• Design and lead the change management strategy for the bank's transformation programs.
• Lead the workforce planning process with the aim of optimizing staff deployment.
• Design, and lead the implementation of a high-performance organisation culture that attracts and retains key talent to deliver the business strategy.
• Recommend and institutionalise appropriate HR management processes and development of policies and procedures that comply with the local laws and regulations. Establish and maintain good employee relations and practices to always improve staff morale and discipline.
• Prepare and maintain the bank's human resource budget in line with local policies.
• Establish and implement effective talent management strategies to ensure that the bank has the right talent to deliver the strategy.
• Implement rewards management strategies to ensure staff engagement and satisfaction.
• Review and recommend changes to the organization structure, job descriptions and performance metrics in line with the business strategy and organizational changes.
• Maintain all statutory staff statistics, records, and Board Compensation Committee papers.
• Implement and coordinate the staff performance management and development process.
• Coordinate HR audits and respond to issues and recommendations raised.
• Provide leadership, coaching and talent management for the HR team in Uganda.
Knowledge & Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organisational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
• A Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Organisational Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
• A professional qualification in Human Resource Management or related field.
• Membership to a recognized professional Human Resource Management body.
• A minimum of 10 years of Human Resources Management experience, of which 5 should be in a senior management position, managing an HR function in a banking environment.
• Demonstrable experience in leading the implementation of organisational transformation projects.
• Demonstrable experience leading a Human Resource Function in an international or group setting across geographical borders.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
