Paidha black Angles Sports Club (PBA FC) is one of the historical and most prominent clubs in the West Nile region that started as a community fan-based club in 1979 by a group of concerned members of Paidha community in Zombo district. The original Team of players included groups of talented youths from within Paidha and other parts of the country including: Nebbi, Zombo, Pakwach, Arua, Karamoja, Soroti, Kampala, Jinja, Mukono, Koboko, Moyo, Gulu, Lira, Kitgum, Apac, etc. The club underwent transition in management where it was mainly the business community leading the club and later on the Town Council Authority giving it major support to the current leadership where mainly community leaders have taken full charge of the club. The club is managed by the congress which appoints executive committee headed by the chairman executive committee and other appointed officials in standing committees and the secretariat headed by the CEO.

After competing in the 2nd tier division (FUFA Big League) for the past 3 seasons, Paidha Black Angels Football Club on 20th May 2018 got promoted to the Uganda Premier league. This achievement has created a lot of excitement within the 3 districts of Zombo, Nebbi, Pakwach and neighboring Districts of Arua and Democratic Republic of Congo where PBA Football club has got a huge following. As a result of this great achievement, the club is now obliged to adhere to FUFA Premier League requirements that include having a team of well qualified Technical staffs to take on some of the sporting and technical roles in the club. Paidha Black Angels Football Club, therefore, seeks suitably qualified persons to fill the positions listed hereunder. Please see Terms of Reference of the said positions below:

Post: Head Coach
Reports to: The Technical Director
Responsible for: Assistant Coaches and lower level staff in the technical Department

Description:
The Head Coach position is a full-time job responsible for teaching players the basics of football, basketball as well as setting up and calling offensive and defensive plays during games and managing subordinate coaches. Other duties include arranging practices and recruiting new players.

General Responsibilities:

•  Ensure that player development philosophy is being implemented within all aspects of the Football competition program
• Utilize a player centric approach to contribute to elite player development
  Meticulous preparation for training and matches with individual player development as the priority
• Actively identify talent (Local Leagues, Local Tournaments, Training Centers, etc.) and develop an expert understanding of the applicable scouting profiles based on age and position
• Make player selections that account for a player’s current and potential ability
• Design and implement a comprehensive age appropriate annual training plan.
• Adhere to all established Academy and League processes and protocols
•  Provide detailed reports on individual players and team performance for continuous personal growth as well as for TA or National Team coach submission
• Contribute to the other sporting and professional moments within PBA FC (camps, courses, events, meetings, media, etc.) as assigned
• Positively contribute to the individual growth as young men and women using the sport of soccer as the vehicle
•  Work within any current and potential soccer specific programming within our partners pro club relationships
•  Report to the Technical and Executive Director

Head Coach Skills
The Head Coach should display strong communication, motivational and organizational skills. Team-building abilities and working in a collaborative environment are essential. S/he should also be able to draw assistant coaches together to achieve the same goal and work off of the same plan. In addition to these general skills, the Head Coach must have skills for:

• Designing game plans and assigning positions
• Preparing and conditioning athletes
• Understanding rules and regulations governing sports nationally and internationally
• Assessing talent of players to be recruited into a sports program
• Developing and evaluating a budget for all expenses
• Managing fundraising and promotional efforts
• Understand aspects of health, exercise science and physical education
• Mentoring players off- and on-field, encouraging leadership skills and academic success
•  Maintain a calm stance on losing the game without putting the blame or discouraging the players.
• Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize work
• Strong knowledge of elite youth player development including international standards and strategies

Minimum Qualifications:

• CAF “B” Coaching License or equivalent
• Track record of developing individual players to an elite level
• Prior experience coaching at the relevant age level within a top club

Remuneration:
Remuneration package is attractive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
