JOB DETAILS:
Our client is one of the oldest and largest agro- chernical distributing companies which imports, repackages and distributes agro-chemicals in Uganda. lt is also known for top quality products and customer based services in the range of exceptional insecticides, fungicides, bactericides, immune boosters, fertilizers, anti-stress chemicals and a number of selective and non-selective herbicides is looking for a Head of Finance

OVERALL PURPOSE
The successful candidate will leads and overseas all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, credit, insurance, tax and treasury. Additionally the role will support the development of analyses that inform business decisions across a wide range of matters and partners with functional areas in the organization to drive the execution of initiatives.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Control

• ln collaboration with the General Manager, preparation of budget and Mid Term Plan according to Corporate requirements, instructions and policies
  
• Performance of continuous reforecast of the activity and anticipation of year-end landing
  
• Analysis of budget deviations
  
• Management of expenditures centrally,
  
• Consolidation of sales and financial reporting
  
• Developing policies and regulations in the accounting functions
  

Inventory management

• Maintaining the inventory management process
  
• Developing regulations managing the inventory management
  
• Control of economic order quantises
  
• Determination of reorder levels
  
• Control of stock costs
  

Reporting
The potential candidate will required to write the following periodic reports:

• End of year statutory report
  
• Periodic management quarterly reports
  
• Cash flow projection and forecasts
  
• General maintenance of the integrity of the general ledger of the company accounts
  

Asset management and control

• Advise management on insurance of assets
  
• Provision of asset management report on a quarterly basis
  
• Advise management on asset revaluation
  
• Carry outthe regularasset verification execrise
  

Internal Control

• Implementation,application and control of all Corporate guidelines, instructions and policies
  
• Detection and prevention offrauds
  
• Liaison with internal and external audit
  

Tax

• Preparation and submission of all tax declarations and documentation in line with legislation and calendar
  
• URA Audit Contact
  

Legal

• Finance Liaison for all legal issues and Litigations
  

Cash Management

• Monitoring of cash flows as needed
  
• Management of treasury information systems in cooperation with General manager
  

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• Degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance, Master's degree in MBA finance may be of added advantage
  
• Professional qualification in ACCA, CPA is a must
  
• Experience of finance management in production or processing, manufacturing environment for not less than five years with least three years at senior position.
  
• Experience in people management
  
• Knowledge of local tax, accounting and legal Affairs
