JOB DETAILS:
Position Overview:
The Market Systems Development (MSD) Expert will collaborate with other evaluation team members on the process of evaluating FtF IAM activities, contributing to the development of high-quality, timely deliverables.

Level of Effort Expectations:
This position is expected to have an LOE of 40 days.

Responsibilities:
• Participate in the finalizing of the evaluation design, ensuring that the MSD component is fully integrated.
• Participate in all evaluation activities, including the design of data collection instruments, data collection and analysis, report writing, periodic meetings, etc., with a focus on MSD.
• Contribute to the consolidation of the final findings and recommendations.

Deliverables:
The MSD Expert is expected to play a contributing role to the following deliverables:
• In-briefing
• Inception report
• Presentation of preliminary findings
• Draft evaluation report
• Final evaluation report

Requirements:
• Master's degree in economics, business administration, international development, or another related field.
• Experience in MSD, preferably in the agriculture sector and in a developing country and emerging market context.
• Deep understanding of market systems dynamics, value chain analysis, and economic growth.
• Knowledgeable about market-based approaches to poverty reduction and strong grasp of relevant economic theories.
• Possess strong analytical skills to assess market constraints and opportunities, identify systemic barriers, and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Competency in monitoring and evaluation techniques to assess the impact and effectiveness of MSD interventions is desired.
