JOB DETAILS:
Nation Media Group is Uganda's most influential media house, operating the Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor, Sunday Monitor and The East African Newspapers, 93.3 KFM, 90.4 Dembe FM and Nation Courier Service. It also operates NTV, the biggest and most popular English-language television station and Spark TV, the first female-focused, and fastest growing television station in Uganda.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced and result oriented professional to fill the following vacancy:

Job Title: Internal Auditor
Reports to: NMG Head of Audit Risk & Compliance and the Audit Risk & Compliance Board Committee

Job Purpose:
Responsible for carrying out risk based audits that entail risk assessment of business activities, reviewing internal controls and compliance with relevant laws and regulations; and with company policies & procedures.

Main Responsibilities: Internal Audit
• Prepare country audit plan for approval.
• Plan and execute audit assignments to ensure quality audit approach, achievement of set audit objectives and completion within the agreed schedule.
• Communicate audit results with management and ensure management commitment to the implementation of the resulting management actions.
• Regular follow-up of management actions and preparation of status reports.
• Carry out special audits and investigations.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of the board pack to the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee. Provide advisory services to management when requested.

Risk Management & Compliance
• Monitor the risk register and implementation of action plans and any potential changes in the environment likely to affect the company's risk profile (both the upside and downside of risk).
• Monitor and report compliance risks and issues.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Academic: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any business related course or its equivalent from an accredited institution. A Master's degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA) would be an added advantage.
• Professional: Professional qualification in relevant field e.g. CISA, CIA, ACCA, CPAU and must be a member of a professional body.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant audit experience in an organization of similar size and complexity or an established audit firm.

• Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills
• Knowledge and experience in the use of audit software Knowledge and experience in data analytics and use of data analysis tools including CAATS.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including emotional intelligence
