Position: Junior Projects Engineer - Electrical
LOCATION: HIMA - KASESE

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Role: Graduate Projects Engineer ~ Electrical works closely with the Project Engineer to ensure that all project objectives and key indicators are achieved in a sate manner. This position will be on contract/as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake risk assessments and ensure safety at the workplace.
  • Bring any risks to the attention of the company management and ll neceseery trait work until it is sale lo work.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is available, reviewed and understood bolero netting out to aita. Complete all the necessary job assessments, permits, time sheets and other tlnniinrontallon as required.
  • Assist the Project Engineer from time-to-time to determine the scope oi projects and design in line to LalargeHoicim design criteria, support the process cl selection and project leesibility analysis.
  • identify and address any changes to scope, investigate the problem and provide engineering solutions to support the planning and execution stages of the project.
  • Site walk-through and planning for installation process.
  • Record any changes to scope and “as build" drawings as agreed by line manager.
  • On-sight installation supervision/management.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned from time-to-time by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Education Rt Experience:

  • Graduate with a BSC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • At least two (2) years‘ working experience in e busy environment.

Technical Competences

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and standards.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical maintenance operations.
  • Proficient in project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Prirnavera.
  • Basic computer knowledge with applications like AUTOCAD, Solidworks, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret electrical drawings.

Leadership & Behavior Skills

  • Quick decision making skills and ability to solve problems "on-the-fly”.
  • Highly organized and must be attentive to details, accuracy and meticulous.
  • Self~starter with ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work under pressure & willingness to work beyond normal working hours.
  • Proactive not reactive.
  • Good listening and verbal communication acumen.
  • Foster team spirit, disciplined and respectable before team.
  • Loyalty and respect for the organization.
  • Anticipation/initiative.
  • Result oriented.
