Job Title: Laboratory Assistant. (01 vacancy)
Report to: Laboratory Technician
Duty location: Adjumani.
Remuneration: Attractively negotiable


Job Description
1. Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure efficient performance
2. Collect and analyze body fluids such as urine and blood to detect pathogens
3. Utilize specialized electrical and mechanical devices such as microscopes, densitometer, and spectrometer to conduct analysis
4. Conduct blood tests to determine the compatibility of a blood type for transfusion
5. Prepare and forward results of laboratory analysis to physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals for decisive action
6. Ensure blood samples are collected and handled in observance of asepsis principles
7. Cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens for pathological examination
8. Prepare standard volumetric solutions of reagents required for chemical analysis of specimen
9. Conduct qualitative and quantitative tests on finished products to determine actual makeup of a substance
10. Ensure adherence to correct testing policies, procedures, and health regulations
11. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry development, trends, and recent lab techniques
12. Ensure they protect patient information to uphold confidentiality agreements
13. Conduct research on specific topics to gather and obtain relevant information.
14. Maintenance of laboratory equipment
15. Manage inventory and procurement of laboratory reagents and supplies
16. Ensure document control and information management system in the laboratory
