JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Leaf Classifier/Green Tobacco Store Supervisor
Duty Station: ARUA
Meridian Tobacco Company is a leading Agricultural company based in Arua with the main interest in tobacco is looking to fill the position above.

The candidate should have an understanding of the following attributes:
1. The candidate shall have an agricultural background with an experience in tobacco grading and processing. will be an advantage.
2. This position requires someone who has had proven experience in green leaf tobacco receiving, grading, classifying, processing, and blending.
3. Candidate must be flexible with working hours and prepared to work shifts at peak periods. (Work could be seasonal....... we can discuss).
4. Be conversant with all aspects of tobacco growing, grading, and processing.
5. Main emphasis will be on receiving in green leaf stores, classification and grading of tobacco.
6. Ability to communicate and work unsupervised.
7. To have initiative and be able to communicate with labour force.
8. To have a strong experience in green leaf tobacco stores management, have an ability to maximize stacking, to mitigate damages on stored green tobacco, to have an experience in forklifts directive, to have experience on stacking of metallic racks.
9. To be used to work under high pressure.
10. Ability to teach and pass on knowledge to trainees.
11. To have good communication with all stakeholders like Leaf Department, GLT, Quality etc.
12. Good at stock valuation, documentation, control and arrangements.
13. Quality monitoring and checking the state of Tobacco.
14. Producing daily, weekly and monthly stock receipts, movements to green leaf threshing department.

Educational requirements and experience:
1. Recognized diploma or degree in Agriculture.
2. Experience of at least five years with proven track record with a recognized agricultural company. Preferably with Tobacco.
Job Description:
1. Receiving green leaf tobacco.
2. Reject non conformed tobacco.
3. Classifying Tobacco based on plant position, quality, maturity and other tobacco factors
4. To stack tobacco in store in organized way.
5. Giving an appropriate grade for blending purposes
6. Checking mixed bales and make decision on how handle them.
7. Blending tobacco based on given range of tobacco and chemistries.
8. Checking NTRM and other contamination in tobacco.
9. Checking moistures, temperatures, and other process related parameters in tobacco.
10. Tobacco inspection from receiving to GLT feeding table exit.
11. To timely issue green tobacco to GLT for processing.
12. Inspection report.
13. Crop assessment.
14. Advising farmers on growing, curing and handling of tobacco.
