Our client a Ugandan Bank is in a drive to strengthen its human capital. The Bank is seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced and competent
person for immediate deployment as a Legal Officer within the Banks legal Department.
Duty station; |Head Office; Kampala
Reports to ; |Head Of Legal
Main roles

Support the bank by drafting and reviewing legal documents, legal compliance, advice and representation in Courts of law
Academic qualifications and Licences.
- A Bachelors of Laws degree (LLB) from an accredited University
- A Post Graduate Diploma in legal practice from the Law Dev. Centre (Uganda)
- Enrolled advocate of the High court
Experience and person attributes:
- 3 years ‘post LDC experience in legal practice or its equivalent in a busy financial institution.
Knowledge of Bank of Uganda regulations and other key laws applicable to banking is desirable.
- Must be familiar with Land/Company registry procedures with a demonstrable ability to register bank securities
- Very good coordination, interpersonal and communication skills with computer literacy skills

Key result areas, Duties and Responsibilities:
Bank Collateral administration; Contracts administration (internal and external); advising bank staff on banking law and regulations and ensuring compliance there to; Research and monitoring amendments to existing laws and regulations; preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and briefings; represent the bank in courts of law in liaison with banks external lawyers and other responsibilities as will be assigned by the head of legal
