JOB DETAILS:
Partners for Community Health and Development Organisation (PACHEDO) is a development organisation that is duly registered as a National Non-Governmental Organisation and has been working in Uganda since 2007. PACHEDO is currently operating in Acholi, Lango and Teso Sub Regions with the overall goal of responding to humanitarian emergencies and development needs. PACHEDO is operational in the communities of Amuru, Kole, Gulu, and Lamwo Districts implementing programs in five main sectors of Health/Nutrition, Water, Protection; Food Security and Livelihoods; with the Head office located in Gulu Town.
PACHEDO is seeking qualified, skilled, experienced and motivated persons committed to its philosophy and Corporate Strategy to fill the following career openings in the Amuru Nutrition Improvement project in Northern Uganda;
Job Title: MCHN Supervisor
Location: Pabbo Field Office
Reports to: MCHN Coordinator
Contract Length: 9 months with possibility of renewal
Start Date: February 2020
Job Summary:
Implement and supervise all nutrition activities in the project location provide training and technical assistance to Care Group Promoters and exhaustively monitor project implementation. This includes conducting surveys and assessments to determine training needs, mobilizing and sensitizing communities and stakeholders, forming beneficiary groups, designing and conducting training of beneficiaries in essential Nutrition Practices and periodically advise/support beneficiaries to ensure successful implementation of the project according to proposal log frame .

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates with project partners, project staff, the MOH, and other stakeholders regarding upcoming activities and needs at the community and regional levels.
• Responsible for the performance and professional development of the Care Group Promoters who report to him/her.
• Review Flipchart Lesson Plans with Care Group Promoters every two weeks and assure they understand the information well and can teach back the information in a participatory manner.
• Collect Care Group Promoter reports on a monthly basis, review the reports and assure the information presented is reasonable and complete.
• Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by Care Group Promoters.
• Maintain a filing system in the project office so copies of Care Group Promoter reports, MCHN Supervisor Reports and QIVCs are easily accessible.
• Responsible to supervise each Care Group Promoter who reports to him or her in the field at least twice a month, conducting QIVCs and completing all sections of the Care Group Promoter Supervision Checklist every quarter.
• Responsible to liaise with the appropriate people in a timely and professional manner to ensure the financial, logistical and procurement issues required to implement project activities.
• Perform nay other duty assigned by the MCHN Coordinator.


Job Requirements:
• A BSc Degree or diploma in Nutrition or related field from a reputable Institution
• At least 2 years work experience in implementing Community Nutrition projects.
• Knowledge and experience in implementing Care Group Model is an added advantage
• Excellent Interpersonal skills
• Possession of a valid riding permit and knowledge of riding a motorcycle is a MUST.
• Knowledge of the local language (Acholi) is essential.
• Excellent documentation and Report writing skills
• Work under minimum supervision
• Ability and willingness to learn
• Adherence to deadlines.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and strive for high ethical standards at all times
• Knowledge and hand-on skills in Microsoft office applications like words, excels
• Ability to learn new concepts/ideas and willingness to work and live in a rural community environment
