Uganda Technical College Lira is a public tertiary Institution offering training in engineering related trades. With the support from the World Bank, the College is implementing a project titled “Uganda Skills Development Project that will lay a foundation for the College to transform into a “Centre of Excellence” in Road Construction and Highway Engineering. MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN,

Duties
• Assist the Instructor in planning and preparing for practical exercises in accordance with the curriculum
• Assist the Instructor in preparing training materials for workshop practice
• Offer technical assistance o trainees during workshop practice
• Maintain and repair institution equipment and tools
• Keep custody of institution workshop materials, equipment and tools
• Assist in evaluation of trainees practical exercises
• Keep records of trainee’s practical training and custody of the products of practical exercises
• Offer technical advice and assistance on acquisition of training materials, tools and equipment
• Ensure safety and hygiene of workshop tools, equipment and trainees
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Person Specifications
• An Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• Atleast 2 years Automotive industrial working experience
• Must possess an Advanced Craft Certificate in Automotive/ Motor Vehicle Mechanics
• Possession of a higher Diploma in the related field is of added advantage
