Job details:
The Rural Electrification Agency ( REA ) is the Secretariat of the Rural Electrification Board (REB) as established by Statutory Instrument 2001 No. 75. The REB’s main function is to oversee the management of the Rural Electrification Fund (REF) and facilitate the development and implementation of rural electrification projects under several sources of funding. In order to strengthen its Human Resource Capacity to fulfil the above intention, REA is seeking to recruit Ugandan nationals suitably qualified to fill the following vacancies:

Post: Manager Service Territory Development and Operations (MSTDO)

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director technical Operations, the Manager Service Territory Development and Operations will oversee the operations of service territories to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal frameworks in order to meet the Government electricity access and consumption targets.

Key responsibilities include to:

• Supervise service territories operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the lease agreements.
• Develop and recommend appropriate sound management principles aimed at enhancing operational efficiency of the service providers.
• Support the development of service territory business plans to ensure alignment with government goals and priorities periodically reviewed and updated.
• Develop asset management plan for electricity networks with a key focus on network reliability and operational efficiency.
• Conduct periodic performance assessment of electric service providers and identity business growth opportunities for support.
• Establish, promote and maintain strategic linkages with key stakeholders.
• Develop and implement appropriate strategies initiatives to spur growth in electricity consumption an access.
• Manage departmental resources and activities including but not limited to budgeting, procurement and human resource.
• Perform any other duties as will be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Specifications oil the Person

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Management.
• A Master’s degree in Management is a must.
• Should be a registered practitioner or affiliated to recognized professional body.
• A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience at senior level management.
• A minimum of Ten (10) years‘ experience working in utility planning, management and regulation.

• Membership with Engineers Registration Board is a must
• Proven project management experience.
• A demonstrable background of professional and strategy leadership
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
