JOB DETAILS:
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Oversee the development and implementation of Uganda’s tourism marketing strategy and destination Uganda brand manual in order to position Uganda as a tourism destination of choice in the world.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Develop and coordinate the implementation of destination Uganda marketing strategy.
b) Oversee the implementation and review of the destination brand strategy.
c) Coordinate the development and implementation of advertising campaigns and activation in the domestic, regional, and international markets.
d) Monitor marketing trends and conduct competitor analysis, collect and analyze data to maintain competitive advantage.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
a) Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality, or other relevant degree from a reputable university.
b) Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality, or Marketing.
c) Professional marketing qualification is an added advantage such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or any other relevant professional qualification.
d) 10 years’ experience with 5 years in a senior management position in a reputable, large organization.

SKILLS
a) Excellent project management skills.
b) Proven ability to develop marketing strategies and market intelligence reports.
c) Ability to examine and study a target audience/market segment to gather insights that inform the board’s marketing strategy and products.
d) Ability to direct and guide marketing decisions with budgetary analysis.
e) Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
f) Excellent leadership skills.
