Key Duties and Responsibilities • Supporting leaners across the curriculum, often with a particular focus on their learning needs.
• Giving extra help to leaners with special needs or those for whom English is not their first language
• Helping to develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials
• Helping with school events, trips and activities
• Take on additional responsibilities such as teaching classes on their own, covering planned absences and allowing teachers time to plan and mark.
• Coordinate and promote the AEP activities to the local communities and head teachers at the conventional schools.
• Work with communities to encourage enrolment of girls and suggest strategies to WAR CHILD CANADA on how to improve on Girls’ Enrolments child education including enrollment and retention of Girls enrollment.
• Provide counselling and guidance services to learners
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: • Minimum of Ordinary Level certificate of education or its equivalent
• Applicants must have obtained at least credit in English and Mathematics
• Applicants must be registered refugees residing in the districts/ refugee settlements named above
• Knowledge of local languages of refugee children such as Swahili, Kinyabwisha, French, Kirundi among others is a must.
• Letter of recommendation detailing good conduct (no criminal activity including protection violations) from former employer or LC authority or RWC

Trained Secondary Teachers in various districts indicated in application procedure
Key Duties and Responsibilities • Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans in line with approved curriculum on termly, weekly and daily basis.
• Managing pupil behavior in the classroom, school premises and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehavior
• Conduct lessons and remedial work according to the set timetable.
• Actively participate in the process of continuous assessment and evaluation of learners.
• Keep and maintain class records/inventory (Registers, records of work, progress reports and equipment.)
• Undergoing regular observations and participating in regular in-service training as part of continuing professional development
• Participate in co-curricular activities and link the community with the school
• Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge and devising and writing new curriculum materials
• Work as a teacher on duty and provide a weekly report to that effect.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: • Minimum of a Diploma in Education -Secondary from a recognized institution/University.
• A Degree in Education –Secondary is an added advantage.
• Should be a registered teacher with the Ministry of Education and Sports
• Letter of recommendation from the local council one (LC1) of where you stay.
• Be ready to work with minimum supervision and meet the daily task timelines of submitting assignments.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.
• Should be able to work in a hard to reach and multicultural environment.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience is preferred.
