JOB DETAILS:
The Role
Oxfam International’s Africa Platform is looking for a Media and Communication team Lead who will provide strategic media, communication, and social media advice to senior-level staff at Oxfam in Africa level in the development of plans, matters of brand risk, crisis communication and to maximise communications impact. This role will profile Oxfam’s work at different media and in wider communications to support Oxfam’s public engagement including fundraising and campaign goals

We are looking for a person with
• Qualification in media studies or journalism.
• At least 7 years’ experience as a journalist or media specialist
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and other languages particularly French are highly desirable.
• Exceptional multi-media and story-gathering skills.
• Ability to lead complex projects
• Ability to represent the organisation in high-profile and high-pressured external environments
• Proven ability in strategic thinking and leadership
• Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
