Uganda Youth and Adolescents Health Forum is looking for 2 proactive, strategic and open-minded team members to join our newly established Adolescent Health Clinic in Mbale.
The UYAHF Adolescent Health Clinic strives to be leading center for excellence for quality adolescent friendly health services, wellbeing and research in Eastern Uganda and Uganda large. The clinic’s commitment is hinged on UYAHF’s passion to protect and improve the health and well-being of adolescents including enhancing their demand, access and uptake of quality sexual reproductive health services and GBV support services.
The new team members will play a critical role of building and sustaining internal systems that will support UYAHF to realize the above ambitious goal.

JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Medical Clinical Officer
Station: Mbale
Role: Coordinate the delivery of Integrated adolescent health care services with focus on Reproductive Health Services to the target population while maintaining a high quality of care at different service delivery points.
Monitor the implementation of project activities, and liaise with partners in reproductive health in the catchment area.
Reports to: Program Manager – UYAHF

Key Result Areas
• Provide overall leadership to the UYAHF Adolescent Health Clinic in Mbale including day to day operational and core running of the clinic, regular supervision of clinical staff, monitoring quality of services, monitoring stocks of the clinic’s equipment’s, supplies and medicines.
• Coordinate the implementation of UYAHF Adolescent Health Clinic’s service delivery within the assigned cluster for purposes of increasing access to general adolescent health care services and ensuring quality of care.
• Provide technical support supervision to all staff and community peer educators and change champions
• Monitor and evaluate the provision of integrated Reproductive Health services, GBV services and general health care service provided by the clinic.
• Establish service and training networks with partner agencies for sharing SRH, Post rape care, SGBV and mental health medical resources and experiences.
• Initiate and coordinate operational research and create a supportive environment for generating and collecting of disaggregated data.
• Prepare weekly and monthly comprehensive activity and financial reports for submission to UYAHF senior management team on time.
• Perform any other professional duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Duties/Main Tasks
• Develop quarterly, monthly and weekly activity plan and budgets for implementing Project activities
• Monitor implementation of all activities provided at the clinic including service delivery activities, out reaches, information, education and communication sessions, social behavior change activities with young people and communities etc.
• Provide technical support to UYAHF and Partner Agencies’ service providers
• Monitor the quality of services provided within the clinic and report regularly to management on areas that require improvements.
• Establish service and training networks with partner agencies
• Initiate and coordinate operational research
• Prepare activity and financial reports.

Required Outputs and Outcomes
• UYAHF Adolescent Health service delivery and outreach activities coordinated and implemented as scheduled.
• Clinic staff regularly monitored and supervised to ensure they deliver results and provide quality and non-discriminatory services
• UYAHF and Partner Agencies technically supported in service provision
• Quality adolescent health care services including reproductive health services provided to the target population
• Service and training networks with partner agencies established.
• Operational research initiated and coordinated
• Comprehensive activity and financial reports prepared and timely submitted on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

Knowledge skills and temperaments
• Comprehensive activity and financial reports prepared and timely submitted on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Skilled in at least two or more of the following technical areas: strengthening service delivery project; performance and quality improvement; quality of care; adolescent Family Planning
• Skill in resource mobilization, training, quality of care assessment, supervision, writing and documentation. Demonstrated leadership, administration and motivation skill,
• Ability to organize a multi-task, delivering quality outcomes in an efficient and timely manner.
• Skill in coaching, guiding, and building task-oriented teams.
• Knowledge and skill in offering and facilitating integrated Sexual and Reproductive health services delivery and other basic general health services.

Training and experience
• Knowledge and skill in offering and facilitating integrated Sexual and Reproductive health services delivery and other basic general health services.
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health
• At least three (3) years in implementing Family Planning/ Reproductive Health programmes in Uganda, preferably in Reproductive Health service delivery projects
• Demonstrated experience in providing capacity building and assistance with the public, the private sector, and at community level.
