We are an active partner of the Ministry of Health in supporting treatment of women and girls who suffer from the devastating oondition of Obstetric Fistula and other child birth injuries; and helping them to reintegrate in to society with dignity. We broke the silence on myths surrounding fistula and have since then implemented innovative strategies for increasing awareness and advocacy about the condition, including its prevention

JOB DETAILS:
We are currently seeking tor qualified and passionate medical professionals to fill the following vacant positions.
1) Job Title: Medical Director
Duty Station: Soroti
Reports to: Hospital CEO

Job Summary
S/He will be the primary technical person in charge of the day to day management of all medical services and resources in the hospital and also performing the surgeries. SiHe will be the accounting officer for the medical team, responsible for defining, planning, initiating, and monitoring medical activities in coordination with the CEO, the Admin/Human Resource managerand the program manager~ community Empowerment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
a) Medical duties

  •  Lead and provide technical guidance on all clinical services provided at the hospital
  •  Will be responsible for scheduling and performing routine surgeries for patients of fistuia and other child birth injuries.
  •  Be responsible for scheduling and outsourcing oonsultant surgeons for surgical camp for patients for fistula and other child birth injuries
  •  Ensure timely referrals of patients who require services not provided in the hospital.
  •  Ensure high standards of clinical ethics, quality assurance and provision of quality services.
  •  Spearhead and provide technical guidance in the recmitment of clinical staffs, appraisal, mentorship and continuous professional development (CPD).
  •  Document and generate evidence through clinical research to inform decision making and continuous clinical quality improvement.
  •  Provide technical guidance tor the procurement of necessary medical equipment and supplies.
  •  Spearhead the establishment and maintenance of a functional medical record system.
  •  Be on call during and outside of working hours to provide medical consuitationl case management in the event of emergencies atthe Hospital. Other Operational and Management duties

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential

  •  Should be a holder of a Master of Surgery or OBSGYN Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
  •  Should have a formal and valid licensed to practice in Uganda.
  •  Should have at least 3 years surgical experience.
  •  Substantive experience managing, supervising, and mentoring clinical staff. Preferable
  •  Training in Urology, Training and experience in Obstetric fistula care and
  •  Demonstrated clinical management skills in a clinic or health facility Job Remuneration Terms: Competitive salary and incentives

  •  Demonstrate empathy and compassion for the plight of women suitenng from obstetric fistula and other childbirth injuries with commitment to the restoration of their dignity,
  •  Passionate on women issues
  •  A commitment to clinical excellence.
  •  Willingness to live and work in Soroti district.
  •  Ability to creatively solve complex and sudden clinical and medical logisticschallenges with limited support.
  •  Takes initiative and ability to mulli-task. Communication and interpersonal skills
  •  Ensure confidentiality, respect and care for patients.
  •  Work well in a team environment and show respect to colleagues and subordinates.
  •  Open and transparent communication style.
