JOB DETAILS:
Our client, the United Nations Federal Credit Union is looking for a Member Service Representative (MSR) with integrity, leadership abilities and commitment. The position will be located in Uganda. The Member Service Representative will be responsible for determining members’ financial needs and making referrals where necessary, promoting the Credit Union’s product line, processing new accounts/loan applications, resolving issues with member accounts/loans, and assisting members to the fullest extent possible.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a memorable member experience at every touch point of service;
• Deepen connections with members to better understand their needs by asking effective questions and building relationships;
• Become a trusted advisor to members by presenting the features and benefits of the Credit Union’s products and services;
• Investigate issues with member acc0unts/ loans, determine action necessary to resolve the issues, and ensure action is taken in a timely fashion; and keep members informed of the status of their issues;
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures, and keep abreast of new products, procedures and technology;
• Seek new memberships and open new accounts;
• Maintain confidentiality of all member account information; and
• Make presentations and carry out member service calls as required.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess;

• A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years in a financial institution;
• Experience with retail banking products and mortgage financing products is preferable;
• Knowledge of banking regulations;
• Must demonstrate evidence of a strong sales and service orientation;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; and
• Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy.
